Second Release

October 30, 2024

v 1.2

Finally a new version of Details Update Mod has been completed! It will be released by the end of September on MCreator, PlanetMinecraft and Modrinth. Meanwhile you can read the complete changelog here - many things have changed since last snapshot!

Yes, it's (sadly) true, this is the last release of the Details Update Mod development cycle as the entire BlockyRick project has ended after almost four years! What does it mean? Here's some explaination:

For the last four years I've worked hard to leave a mark in the Minecraft community, and even if it is a small one, I think I did it! Now it is time for me to focus more on my other hobbies and activities (writing, science and university). The BlockyRick project has come to an end and with it this first development cycle of the mod.

This project won't be discontinued, but for a long while there won't be updates besides some support on bugs.

Anyway, enough talking about me, let's talk about the actual mod!

This last release is stable, it does mean that (hopefully) works as intended. I've managed to solve a lot of bugs and add many cool features; I even managed to make it compatible with Forge 1.20.1 and NeoForge 1.20.4-1.21 !!!

Enjoy!

DETAILS UPDATE: ENHANCED OVERWORLD

In this second version of the mod, the Overworld becomes more interesting to explore and…naturally dangerous!

If you are not into adventures, don't worry, you can still have fun while building with the new 89 blocks and listening to Steelman Far Lands music track!

NEW DECORATIVE BLOCKS

More vanilla style blocks!

  • Every type of wood now has a Wall derivative - yes like cobblestone

  • Introducing Iron Plates! Similar to copper blocks, those do not change their texture due to time, but give a really nice steampunk touch to the game!

  • Reinforced Redstone Block - a redstone block immune to explosion and that cannot be pushed by pistons!

  • Moving Sand - found in moving sand ponds

  • Glass Trapdoor

  • Rope - see Snapshot 1 trailer

  • Blueshroom Fibers Block and Planks

  • Glowshroom Fibers Block and Planks

  • Tinted Blocks - see Chemical Reactions

NEW ITEMS

  • Glow Ink Bottle

  • Blueshroom and Glowshroom Fibers and Fungus

  • Rope

  • Music Disc - Advancement Only

NATURAL ADDITIONS

  • Blueshroom Ecosystem

  • Glowshroom Ecosystem

  • Moving Sand Pond - found in Jungles and in the new biome, the Overgrown Forest

OVERGROWN FOREST

A new, umid, swamp-like, biome, better than the mangrove biome, less practical than jungles! This new incredible forest can be found in the overworld, usually near Savannas or Jungles. There are mainly two type of trees which grow there: Oak trees and Dark Oak Trees (many of them actually); the terrain is rich of life, such as flowers, pumpkins, mushrooms, moss and even little creatures such as Rabbits and the adorable, and yet forgotten, Zombie Horses!

Other characteristics are the green-ish water, underground gold clusters and structures - mainly Villages and Outposts.

I think I forgot something….oh, silly me, there are two entire ecosystems to be found!

Blueshroom and Glowshroom funguses found home in the forest! Be aware, Blueshroom fibers are toxic, but easily avoidable, while Glowshroom fibers are…simply bioluminescent. If you are lucky, you'll directly find the mega mushrooms, from which is possible to create two new wood-like sets!

Anyway, here's some looks of the new biome:

CHEMICAL REACTIONS

Blueshroom and Glowshroom sets have the ability to change their color if if you spill Glow Ink on their surface!

In this way you can obtain the following derivatives:

  • Blueshroom Blocks to Purple-Tinted Blueshroom Blocks

  • Glowshroom Blocks to Orange-Tinted Blueshroom Blocks

ADVANCEMENTS & CHALLENGES

-Travelling to the old location of Far Lands will grant you a Special Advancement! It will also give you a gitched music disc: Far Lands - composed by Steelman!

-Falling on a Diamond Block will grant you a Secret Advancement!
